Visit these two famous gentlemen’s houses and discover what made them famous. Both houses have lots of paintings, artefacts of interest etc. Dr. Johnson is a literary giant most famous for creating the highly influential Dictionary of the English Language published in 1755. There are two rare copies of the original first edition of the Dictionary.

At the Sir John Soane Museum you will discover the extraordinary home and museum of Sir John one of the greatest English neo classical Architects – he built the Bank of England. The house has been left as it was at the time of his death in 1837.
