There will be a one hour guided tour of the Worshipful Company of Stationers and Newspaper Makers, which is one of the City of London Livery Companies. There will be tea/coffee and biscuits at the end of the tour.
The Stationers Company originated in 1403 as a guild for writers, illustrators and bookbinders. As these craftsmen stayed in one place they were called “stationaries” giving us the modern word stationer. The original hall was destroyed in the Great Fire of London in 1666. The present building and hall were completed in 1673.
Booking at the August Summer Garden Party or now by email or post. The booking form is attached to the August Travel Bulletin.
