HEROES (Helpful & Really Organised People)

There are many ways you can help our u3a without being on a committee and one of them is to join this team of members - the HEROES.

Making and serving refreshments – tea and coffee and biscuits – at our Monthly Meetings is a vital contribution to our social provision. Members love to arrive before the meeting to chat over a cuppa and then go in to hear the Speaker. Maximum 2 hours work on each occasion and the more people we have on the rota, the fewer occasions you will be called on.
These take place at Southgate Methodist Church, 47 The Bourne, N14 6RS

We have begun to host Welcome Teas with a view to introducing those who have recently joined PGS u3a to one another and to some Conveners and members of the Executive Committee. These are being held at Selborne Bowling Clubhouse every few months and involve serving refreshments and helping to encourage them to join some interest groups.

Other duties are varied, such as helping to distribute publicity and the quarterly magazine and maybe others we haven’t even thought of yet!!
